| To run the Giant Ball you need a recent installation of
Java. To get Java, go there,
you can choose between the online (the installation is done through the
internet) or the offline (you download the pack first) installation.
Generally the offline installation works better, and you can erase the
pack afterwards. Then the Applet should run, but your firewall might ask you about a connection, see below. You also have to accept the connection for the application as a client (port 6945) with your firewall. If you are connected from a company or an university, it is possible that the access is restrained. We might furnish a limited version of the Giant Ball which does not need its own connection later. If it isn't working, you can send us a message explaining your problem: help@TheGiantBall.com You can also, if available, send us the content of the Java console (generally obtained by a right click on the applet or by the Java task icon on Windows). |
